Fernanda McConnell

(she/ her) MA, RCC

  • Hello! I’m Fernanda McConnell (née Bruce), a clinical counsellor and founder of Musing Fox Counselling.

With over a decade of experience, I’ve supported individuals through a wide range of challenges — from providing acute crisis care at Vancouver General Hospital to counselling students in UBC’s Faculties of Law and Medicine as they faced intense academic and performance pressures.

My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and anti-oppressive. Drawing on my background in psychology research, I integrate evidence-based practices into my work.

I view counselling as a collaborative process: you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to offer a compassionate, respectful space where we can explore your experiences and take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.

  • In my practice, I work with people experiencing mood disorders, trauma, grief, ADHD, and challenging life transitions, as well as those seeking greater meaning, joy, and alignment.

I have advanced training in perinatal mental health and feel honoured to also support women through the transformative journey into parenthood.
